With the schools finally out for Summer, are you planning for your trip away with the family in the caravan? In this blog we provide our top tips for preparing your caravan for your fun family break.
After being left out in the harsh Winter weather, your caravan is bound to not look it’s best. Before you do anything, you must clean it properly, inside and out. This will get rid of any dirt and grime that has attached it to your caravan and mean you can see again out of the windows.
Your caravan tyres don’t get used as much as your normal vehicle, so they can lose pressure. Make sure to check the pressure level in your tyres is correct and the tread meets legal requirements. Due to your caravan being stationary you may see some budging and cracking on your tyres which means they must be changed before you set off on your holiday.
After your caravan has been standing for a while it’s essential that you flush out the system, getting rid of any stagnant water that might still be in there. Simply run the water for a few minutes and check for any blockages or changes in water.
Caravans are not totally sealed, so you may find that after a while they will start to smell a little foisty. The day before you set off on your trip, open all the windows and door to let in some fresh air and get rid of any smells that have lingered overtime.
Once you have completed these steps you are ready for your summer holidays!
