With all that has been going on in the world recently, we at Dave Hughes Driver Training are passionate about ensuring safety and wellbeing are a priority. That’s why we were happy to be able to move our driver CPC courses online, in order to comply with the government’s recent social distancing measures. These measures are in place to keep us all safe so we were quick to ensure we could play our part in the national effort.
For those of you who are unaware of CPC courses, this stands for the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence. This qualification was first unveiled in 2007 by the UK, as a European directive. It was introduced across Europe with the aim of improving road safety and maintaining high standards of driving. Professional drivers such as lorry drivers and bus drivers are required by law to do CPC training every 5 years with 35 hours of periodic training.
With our Online CPC courses, we are able to teach a range of the lessons that you would usually experience in the classroom. Just some of the areas that you can take part in learning include driver hours, driver distractions, driver health and well-being, safe loading, driver safety awareness and driver speed awareness. Through the use of apps, we can also ensure there is a real interactive element to lessons so that you can be taught with the same effectiveness.
We all know what has happened with the Coronavirus outbreak and due to this, the DVSA confirmed that classroom delivery of Driver CPC periodic training would be suspended. The DVSA’s solution to this issue was to offer training providers like ourselves the chance to benefit from a temporary alternative, allowing approved trainers authorisation to deliver accepted courses remotely via digital platforms.
